"Dickens"

October 2010  All grown up and looking fantastic!

This is Dickens.  Dickens is the littermate (full brother) to Chip.

Dickens is a "Certified Therapy Dog" through Paws and Think. 

He and Carol have worked really hard to get this certification. 

The official pet therapy’ certification is AAA/T which stands for Animal Assisted Activity or Therapy certification. You can check out AAA Canine Training LLC  for more info on Therapy training, Obedience and behavioral modification in the Indianapolis, Indiana area!

 Per Carol, seizure dogs are hard to train as usually it is instinct. Dickens would be good at alerting for sounds, timers, phones, doorbells. He really gets in your face or gets anxious when they go off. Carol  will continue working and training Dickens as an assistance dog. He can open doors inwards and close them.  Carol has really worked so much with Dickens, that I'm always amazed at the his new tricks and/or talents he's learned.  He's so neat to watch!  Now if I could just get to her to work with some of my dogs!  :o)

Ernie is now known as Dickens - Dickens Fireside Tales At Daz-End.    Carol is introducing sign language to Dickens.  She has taught him so many things!  She demonstrates all the new things he does when I see them.
